It is with deep regret that I need to announce that NASS in its current format has come to an end.

The financial viability of the organisation has been challenging since I became the Director General in May 2023, but with the uncertain trading conditions within the metal markets it has meant that members have quite rightly had to review the costs of membership.

NASS was formed in 1927, and it is with deep sadness that I could not reverse the trend of falling subscriptions to keep the organisation going to its’ 100^th year.

However, in a move to ensure that the treasured name continues, I have arranged for ISTA to have full and exclusive right to the use of the NASS name. This is both National Association of Steel Stockholders and National Association of Steel Service Centres.

I would like to thank, Claire CARRON, Karl BATE and Mark DARNELL for their support during my time as Director General, as well as all the members who have supported NASS throughout the past 98 years.

I wish you all the best success in the future, and would encourage you to engage with Simone, Julian and the team at ISTA to continue the good fight against the current injustices within the UK Quotas and Duties regime currently being pursued by the UK Government.
