Founded in 1912, A.S.K. McGowan, is one of the largest service centre operations in the United Kingdom.
Serving the whole of the British Isles, Ireland and Europe, A.S.K. McGowan is part of a joint venture company with partners including the majority shareholders, the Arcelor Group, the world's largest steel producer.
In 2003 A.S.K. acquired the assets of Conti Steel Midlands Division and so production will be in excess of 175,000 tonnes of slit coil and blanks.
In 2002, A.S.K. produced over 130,000 tonnes of slit coil. This production provides a vast range of slit coil products for dozens of different areas including:-
- Structural construction components
- Access and computer flooring
- Industry or roller shutter doors
- Tube manufacturing
- Offshire oil industry
- Tin plate and tin free applications for promotional purposes
- Safety critical car components
- Suspended floors and ceilings

The company has its own fleet of delivery vehicles, supplemented by Quality Approved sub contract hauliers, that provide a reliable and efficient service.
A.S.K. operates 24 hours per day and only closes for Christmas Holidays - at all other times deliveries can be made to you. The company exists to provide the service and quality you require.
